Woman Found Asleep in Car Arrested

LIBERTY, March 7, 2016 - On February 28, 2016 around 12:41 PM the Liberty Police Department received a call from a local business in reference to a welfare check of a female subject who appeared to be sleeping in her car with the engine on for about five hours.

The responding Officer was able to wake the woman up and identified her as Brittany Elise Rowland age 29.

Upon inquiring as to the whereabouts of the woman she had no idea as to her location.

The Officer also noticed Rowland was attempting to cover up an item in her front passenger seat when she was looking for her identification.

The Officer obtained consent to search the vehicle and located narcotics in a loaded syringe and in a small baggy.

Rowland was taken into custody charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
