LIBERTY, November 30, 2016 – A strong upper level low coupled with a coastal trough of low pressure will produce periods of showers and thunderstorms Friday night through Monday afternoon with the bulk of the heaviest rain on Saturday and a second episode of moderate rain early Monday.
Three day rainfall totals between 3 and 4 inches near the coast with locally higher amounts. Further inland, rainfall amounts are expected to range between 1 and 2 inches. The rain will be spread out over three days so intense rainfall over a short time span that can create significant flash flooding is not anticipated at this time.
East winds will develop Thursday and linger through early Saturday. Tides will become elevated and some minor flooding will be possible Friday night and again Saturday night along the Bolivar peninsula.
