Weekend Outlook, Heavy Rain

LIBERTY, December 2, 2016 – Friday night through Monday morning with the bulk of the heaviest rain Friday night and Saturday with a second round Sunday through early Monday.

Hazards:
Friday and Saturda Locally heavy rainfall, particularly near the coast.
Sunday and Monday: Gusty winds, isolated tornadoes, frequent lightning, and a continued threat of locally heavy rainfall. Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected with locally heavier totals of 6 to 8 inches inches possible near the coast. A Flash Flood Watch may be required at some point over the weekend.

Tides:
Moderate easterly flow will continue through early Saturday. Tides will become elevated and some minor coastal flooding will be possible Friday night and again Saturday night along the Bolivar peninsula. A Coastal Flood Watch is in effect from Friday afternoon through early Saturday morning.
