Driver Arrested for DWI
LIBERTY, March 28, 2016 - On March 25, 2016 the Liberty Police Department received a call in reference to a possible intoxicated driver in a white ford pickup driving down the road and running off the highway.
The witness followed the vehicle and observed it leaving the roadway several times. The witness then observed the vehicle pull into the parking lot of a business. The witness updated the police and observed as the officer made contact with the driver that was still seated in the driver seat.
The Officer observed the driver who was seated in the driver’s seat of the pickup described by the witness.
The Officer noticed the driver was unsteady on his feet, had glossy eyes and spoke with a thick tongue.
Standard Field Sobriety tests were administered and the Warner did poorly.
The driver was arrested and asked for a specimen of his breath. The driver then refused to give the specimen and a blood search warrant was obtained. Warner was transported to the local emergency room to give his blood specimen. He was then charged with DWI and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
