Former Law Enforcement Officer Arrested

AUSTIN, November 5, 2016 – A former Liberty County Law Enforcement Officer was arrested on Friday for Impersonating a Public Servant.

Former Liberty Police Officer Barbie Skarpa had left the Liberty PD some years ago. She then was employed by Constable Tim Allison and then worked for some school districts as an Officer. Her latest position in Law Enforcement was with the Cleveland ISD Police Department. She left the employment of the Cleveland ISD Police in September of this year according to sources.

Skarpa was arrested as the result of an indictment on Friday, November 4, 2016 and transported to the Liberty County Jail. Skarpa's bail was set at $4,500 dollars.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2016 the Liberty County Grand Jury indicted Barbie Michelle Scarpa, of Liberty on one (1) count of Impersonating a Public Servant, which is a third degree Felony.

Officers of the Liberty Police Department arrested Scarpa on Friday, November 4, 2016 without incident and she was booked into the Liberty County Jail.

This is a result of a month long investigation where it was determined that Skarpa was providing a police escorts for funeral homes without a police agency holding her TCOLE commission.
