Woman Escapes from Custody

LIBERTY, February 18, 2016 - Late yesterday evening Officer Cantu made a traffic stop on N Main Street at Golden Furniture. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license. The Officer allowed the man to call someone to come and pick him up.

A lady identified as Thelma Jean Olson age 32 of Hull arrived to give the man a lift.

It was discovered that Olson had a warrant out of Polk County and she was detained.

She attempted to get out of the patrol car and managed to slip one hand out of her handcuffs.

She was removed from the patrol car to put her hand back in handcuffs and she began to fight the Officer.

She was stunned with a taser and EMS was called to the scene.

She was released by EMS and transported to the Liberty County Jail charged with Resisting Arrest, and Escpae from Custody.
