HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, April 11, 2016 - MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL BRING A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS TO THE AREA ON MONDAY AFTERNOON. A STRONG CAPPING INVERSION WILL GRADUALLY ERODE WHICH SHOULD LIMIT THE SOUTHWARD EXTENT OF THE PRECIPITATION BUT IF THE CAP ERODES...SOME OF THE STORMS COULD BECOME STRONG OR SEVERE WITH GUSTY WINDS AND LARGE HAIL. AREAS MAINLY NORTH OF A LINE FROM COLLEGE STATION TO HOUSTON TO LIBERTY MAY EXPERIENCE STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON.

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. A SECOND STORM SYSTEM WILL APPROACH ON WEDNESDAY. THIS FEATURE WILL TAP INTO A MOISTURE RICH ATMOSPHERE AND TRIGGER SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ON WEDNESDAY. AT THIS TIME...IT APPEARS THAT THE AREA WILL RECEIVE BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES OF RAIN WITH ISOLATED HEAVIER TOTALS IN EXCESS OF 4 INCHES.
