Felony Warrant Served at Motel in Liberty

LIBERTY, Sepetember 12, 2016 – On August 5, 2016 around 9:30 PM, Officers acting upon information of a known felony warrant suspect, identified as Jason Neil Morgan age 34 of Edgewood Street in Liberty, arrived at the Travelers Inn motel establishment. Officers attempted to knock on the door and no one answered.

Officers received assistance from the owner in opening the door. Upon opening the door, the interior latch was locked. The suspect made a suicidal claim. The Officers waited for more units, but they were unavailable.

The Officers forced entry into the motel room due to the Felony warrant and safety for the suspect and detained him. The subject then "passed out" on the Officers.

The subject was then removed from the motel room and placed in a recovery position then seated position. The subject was checked by EMS personnel and was cleared. The Officers then assisted the subject to the patrol unit. The subject did not want to go in the patrol unit. The Officer had to assist the subject into the vehicle. The Officers attempted to place the seatbelt on the subject and he "passed out" again laying across the back seat of the patrol unit.

The Officers then stated a charge of resisting arrest was being filed, the subject arose quickly. The subject was then transported to the Liberty County Jail.
