Man Arrested for DWI on US 90
LIBERTY, September 26, 2016 – On September 14, 2016 at approximately 01:20 AM, an Officer with the Liberty Police Department was on a traffic stop when a motorist stopped and advised the Officer of a possible intoxicated driver that just past the scene.
The Officer then looked up and observed a silver pickup go from one side of the road to the other side and almost leave the roadway. The Officer then proceeded to catch up with the silver pickup and as the Officer approached the vehicle, it then left the roadway and almost struck the tree line in the 100 block of Hwy 90. The Officer then got the vehicle to stop and the Officer made contact with the driver. The Officer then had the driver exit the vehicle.
Hall was then asked how much he had to drink and he only stated that he had a few drinks. The Officer then asked Hall if he would perform a series of test and the driver refused. Hall was then placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Hall was then read his statutory warning and a breath sample was requested. Hall refused to provide a specimen and a blood search warrant was then obtained.
The Officer then proceeded to the local emergency room and a specimen was extracted. The Officer was then took Hall to the jail for processing. It was later determined that Hall had previously been charged and convicted of driving while intoxicated on September 21, 2013 in Liberty County TX. The current charge was then enhanced to driving while intoxicated second offense.
Hall's bond was set at $4,000 dollars.
