Passenger Arrested for Possession

LIBERTY, December 28, 2016 – On December 21, 2016 around 7:17 PM, an Officer with the Liberty Police Department observed a brown Chevrolet four door car traveling eastbound in the 400 block of Hwy 90 with a defective headlight. The Officer then conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Navigation St.

The Officer made contact with the driver and detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.

The Officer spoke to the driver and the passenger who were identified by state identifications. The passenger then admitted that there was marijuana under the front passenger seat. The Officer conducted a search and removed a clear plastic bag that contained a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The passenger was then read his constitutional rights and he admitted the marijuana was his.

The passenger, identified as Gary Wayne Guidry age 44, was then arrested, charged with Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Liberty County Jail for processing.

Guidry’s bond was set at $1,500 dollars.
