LIBERTY COUNTY, September 22, 2016 – This information is forwarded by the State Operations Center (SOC) for your information
WGRFC forecasters continue to see trends indicating the possibility of locally heavy rainfall later this weekend. Meterological models are in pretty good agreement in the fact THAT it will rain later Sunday into Monday. Location and amounts differ between the models.
Even though a large part of the Texas Hill Country has seen below normal precipitation over the last 30 days, some of the amounts expected should still be enough to generate runoff and river responses. Also, a lot will depend on the rainfall rates, as much as the rainfall amounts. Mainstem river flooding is possible in and near the locally heavy rainfall.
WGRFC forecasters will monitor this event and will issue updates...
