George and Martha Washington Visit Liberty LIBERTY, January 26, 2016 – George and Martha Washington will visit Liberty on Saturday, February 6, 2016, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). The local Libertad chapter of the NSDAR invites you to join the Washingtons for afternoon tea, held at the Jean and Price Daniel Home and Archives at 1:00 p.m.
Guests of the Washingtons will dine on a diverse menu of hors d’oeuvres and desserts, while learning more about the personal relationship of the Washingtons and their impact on the formation of America. Neil and Mary Early, of Beaumont’s “Stories & More!!!,” will portray the Washingtons. The Earlys are professional educators and performers, active in the Houston Storytellers Guild and the National Storytelling Network. The Earlys have had costumes specially designed and conducted extensive research in order to portray the Washingtons. They have created an original script that tells the true story of a loving couple who lived in a remarkable time. According to the Earlys, “[The Washingtons] had their ups and downs as all real people do, but their sense of duty and responsibility carried them forward into history as an amazing duo.” Tickets to the event are $20 per person, and can be reserved by calling 936-336-3212. No tickets will be available at the door the day of the event.
