Child Car Seat Inspection
LIBERTY, September 7, 2016 - Is your child in the right car seat? Does your car seat fit your child’s height and weight? What are the laws regarding a car seat for my child?
These and more questions can be answer on September 22, 2016 between 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Dayton Community Centers.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service – Liberty County, Dayton PD, Texas Department of State Health Service and Passenger Safety with the Texas Department of Transportation will be conducting/sponsoring this important event.
Certified car seat technicians will be on-site to teach parents and caregivers how to determine if their child is in the right seat for the child's age and size. Parents are asked to know their child's height and weight, and should bring their current safety seat for proper installation.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nationally, 3 out of 4 safety seats are not used correctly. A Texas study found that nearly 9 out of 10 babies and toddlers were riding in safety seats, but more than a quarter of those safety seats were being used incorrectly.
Car seats will be available for those whose car seats do not fit the requirements for your child.
Child must be present to receive a car seat.
