Major Accident SH 321 Dayton
DAYTON, April 21, 2016 - Around 3:12 PM on Thursday and major accident occurred on SH 321 just south of the Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
According to witnesses a black Ford Pickup traveling north crossed into the southbound lanes and was struck by a silver Ford Pickup.
The black Ford Pickup had three occupants. Occupants in the black Ford pickup were entrapped and the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department used extraction tools to open the vehicle and get the occupants out.
Liberty County EMS responded to the scene and transported the accident victims. The driver of the black Ford pickup was a juvenile age 16 and his passengers were his two brothers. Life Flight transported the two passengers to a Houston area hospital.
The driver of the silver Ford pickup was Laura Kirsch of Cleveland with two children as occupants. They were transported to Kingwood Hospital for evaluation.
Contributing factors to this accident were water on the roadway and driver inexperience.
The southbound lanes of SH 321 were closed to traffic at the accident scene. The northbound lanes remained open to traffic during the investigation and clean up of the accident.
According to public records the black Ford pickup was registered to Crystal Marie Green Jacob and Edward Carroll of Dayton, TX and the silver Ford pickup was registered to Rudolph Henry Kirsch, Jr. and Laura Lynn Kirsch of Cleveland, TX.
