Monitor Trinity River Condtitions

LIBERTY, March 11, 2015 - The Liberty County Office of Emergency Management continues to be in contact with the National Weather Service and the Trinity River Authority in regards to the potential for flooding along the Trinity River.

Current projections indicate that the Trinity River will crest in Liberty sometime late Saturday at 27.4 feet. The crest could be higher depending on changes in the release at the Lake Livingston Dam, as well as additional rainfall expected over our area later tonight.

As of 2 pm today the release at the Dam is 43,800 cubic feet per second and the Trinity River in Liberty is at 25.4 feet.

Residents living along the Trinity River should closely monitor local media for updates. Roads into and out of most of the river front subdivisions can become impassable as the river nears flood stage.

Make your plan now and continue to monitor media reports.
