Arrest for Child Endangerment

LIBERTY August 25, 2015 – On Monday 8/24/2015 shortly after 10:00 a.m. Liberty Police responded to a local apartment complex in reference to possible abandon children.  Upon arrival officers determined that there was two small children crying and screaming from an upstairs apartment balcony.  Officers attempted to make contact with the parent of the children by knocking on the door.  After a short few minutes officers made forced entry into the apartment and found the two young children alone on the balcony in the direct sunlight.  The children had obviously been there for a while.

Officers summoned the City of Liberty EMS to the scene to check the children’s welfare.  The mother of the children was found by officers in the back room of the apartment passed out from apparent synthetic drug use.

The children after being checked by EMS were turned over to Child Protective Service.

The mother identified as Casey Trine age 21 with a Liberty address was arrested at the scene and charged with Abandon/Endanger Child Imminent Danger of Bodily Injury which is a 2nd degree Felony.

Ms. Trine remains in Liberty County Jail where bond was set by Judge Stephen Hebert at $50000.
