Major Accident Main at Magnolia

LIBERTY, May 8, 2015 - Around 8:00 PM on Thursday a two vehicle, major accident occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Magnolia in Liberty in front of the Cash America Pawn Shop.

According to Officer Watson with the City of Liberty Police Department who investigated the accident a Red Chevy Tahoe pulled out from Magnolia Street onto Main disregarding a stop sign and was struck by a Gray Ford Ranger pickup.

The driver and passenger in the Ford Ranger were transported by City of Liberty ambulance to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The southbound lane of Main Street was closed for about an hour and traffic was detoured onto other city street during the investigation and clean up of this accident.

The driver of the Red Tahoe was Chester Tousha. Tousha received a citation in the accident for Failure to Yield Right of Way.

The driver of the Ranger is not yet known. The vehicle had Mississippi License plates and the driver and passenger in the Ranger were from out of town.
