Man Arrested for DWI, Hold for ICE

LIBERTY September 1, 2015 - On August 30, 2015 around 2:48 AM an Officer with the City of Liberty Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet pickup truck that failed to maintain a single lane of travel.

The offense occurred in the 1500 block of MLK to San Jacinto Street.

The Officer then identified the driver as Jose Torres-Colchado age 27 and detected a strong odor of alcohol.

While speaking to the driver he admitted to drinking prior to driving.

The Officer then administered a series of field sobriety tests and the driver did poorly.

The driver was arrested and agreed to provide a breath specimen.

The specimen was found to be over 0.15 BAC thus enhancing the charge.

Torres-Colchado was transported to the Liberty County Jail.

A hold was placed for ICE on Torres-Colchado.
