Constable Pct 4 Recovers Stolen Property

DAYTON, September 15, 2015 - Liberty County Precinct 4 Constable Robby Thornton reports that his office recently conducted investigations that lead to the recovery of stolen property here in Liberty County. 

Constable Thornton reported that on August 31st his department conducted an investigation, with the assistance of Liberty County Constable Precinct 5, leading officers to 1275 FM 1008 where a stolen 2006 Ford F250 truck was recovered.  The truck, valued at approximately $11,000, was reportedly stolen from Spring, Texas on August 17th, 2015. 

Constable Thornton also reported that on September 8th his department conducted an investigation, with the assistance of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, leading officers to a wooded area located on County Road 6383 in Dayton, Texas where a stolen John Deere tractor was recovered.  The tractor, valued at approximately $40,000, was reportedly stolen from the Eastgate area of Dayton, Texas on September 2nd , 2015. 

Constable Thornton added that his department continues to diligently conduct narcotic investigations here in Liberty County. 

Constable Thornton stated; “We’ve been very busy conducting narcotic investigations and assisting other agencies in doing so throughout the county”.  “We’re keeping a low profile on reporting these incidents as it tends to hinder ongoing investigations, but rest assured we’re out there working it hard”.

Constable Thornton reported that thus far this year his department has seized approximately 660 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately 12.5 grams of Cocaine and approximately 112 grams of Marihuana.

Constable Thornton added; “I appreciate the citizens for their continued support by reporting criminal activity in their community and the assisting law enforcement agencies for their continued cooperation”.  “Together we can make a difference in Liberty County”.
