Schlumberger Partners with Houston Community College

AUSTIN May 2, 2015 - Schlumberger Ltd. has partnered with Houston Community College to provide job training using a $517,652 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The grant will benefit workers in the Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast area.

The grant will be used to custom train 415 new and incumbent workers to increase technical skill levels in areas of information technology, accounting, project management and instrumentation. Those trained include IT project managers, accounting clerks and supervisors, manufacturing engineers, designers and technicians. Upon completion of training, the workers will earn an average hourly wage of $39.06.
