Traffic Stop Yields Three Arrests
DAISETTA February 19, 2015 – On February 10, 2015 City of Liberty Police Officers initiated a traffic stop behind the Lazy H on North Main in Liberty on a trailer that had no license plate.
Navarr Lino Romero age 27 was the driver who stated that the license plate must have fallen off.
The Officer ran the license plate on the truck and it came back belonging to a truck that did not match the description of the truck at the scene.
Romero had a warrant out of Atafcosa County for child support.
He was placed under arrest.
The passenger in the rear seat Alexis Dickson age 21 gave consent for the Officer to go through her purse. The Officer found four small baggies of meth residue and a green zip lock bag with two syringes, one being loaded with methamphetamine.
She was taken into custody for Possession of a controlled substance and later transported to Jail.
The front seat passenger, James Bass age 39 gave consent for Officers to search the area where he was sitting. Officers located small, white cardboard box in the front passenger seat. Inside the box was a large bag of marijuana and five packages of synthetic marijuana also known as Kush. A CD case with a scale with a piece of marijuana on it was also located.
Bass was taken into custody. Bass and Romero were charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to Jail.
