LIBERTY, May 28, 2015 - The attached update on flooded roads in Liberty County is from May 23rd. thru today, May 27th. and as you can see, it is an ever changing situation depending upon the roads and the rain fall that has taken place in this county. If given a day without additional rain, many of the roads will drain off and become clear to drive through while others, perhaps near the Trinity River, may remain covered with water for several days so, again, these passable roads will be changing almost daily.

Also….. you will note where it says “Low water bridge road is passable” for May 27th. This “low water bridge” is located on FM 1725 in north Liberty County for those not familiar with Liberty County. In addition, you will note that although a particular county road such as CR 2201for May 25th. is shown as being “under water”, this does not mean the ENTIRE county road from one end to the other is under water. It only means a low lying portion of that county road is under water and, again, most of these effected only by heavy rain fall will probably drain off given a few hours of clear weather. We will try to be more specific as to location in the future.

Needless to say, the high water on some of these roads hinders our patrol cars from reaching some of the calls in a timely manner. Again, the number of roads and their condition will be a changing event during these adverse weather conditions but we will try to keep the media updated as much as possible.
