Red Cross Shelter Open in Liberty

LIBERTY, May 28, 2015 – On Wednesday the Hartel Building at the intersection of San Jacinto and Sam Houston Streets in Liberty was opened by the Red Cross and is open and staffed 24 hours by Red Cross personnel.

The river is currently at flood stage and is expected to remain above flood stage for several days. If you wish to evacuate your home due to high water you have the shelter as an alternate place to go. You may be more comfortable staying with friends or relatives but if you’ve no place to go the shelter is for you.

Below is a photo of the Red Cross Staff on duty at the shelter.
