Sheriff Rader Lying Again
LIBERTY, March 18, 2015 - Sheriff Bobby Rader wrote on his FaceBook Page as follows:
"I do not write about every arrest that the Liberty County Sheriff's Office makes because that would be impossible. For example, in February LCSO made 384 arrests."
Realizing the number of arrests made by LCSO was greatly overstated we sent an Open Records Request to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office requesting the jail information page for each person arrested by the LCSO in the month of February.
Today we received a list from Don Neyland of the LCSO of every person booked into the Jail in the month of February in response to our request. There were 384 names on the list.
The problem appears when you realize that the list contains a huge number of people arrested by other agencies, NOT the LCSO as Sheriff Rader claims.
It included everyone who had been arrested during February including those that were arrested by all the following agencies.
Liberty County Constables Office Pct 1
Liberty County Constables Office Pct 2
Liberty County Constables Office Pct 3
Liberty County Constables Office Pct 4
Liberty County Constables Office Pct 5
Liberty County Constables Office Pct 6
City of Cleveland
City of Liberty
City of Dayton
City of Daisetta
Department of Public Safety
Sheriff Rader is falsely claiming credit for the work of all the law enforcement agencies county wide claiming their arrests were made by LCSO.
He does this because he wants to make it appear as though the LCSO is doing so much more than they actually are. Make no mistake, it’s a lie.

Susie Payne I feel that by you putting these reports on here, that the public will be more aware and will help by giving information to authorities. After all, we, as citizens, can't help if we are not aware.
