EAST MONTGOMERY COUNTY, May 12, 2015 - On Tuesday, the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office initiated a pursuit on a stolen vehicle that ended with seven suspects in custody and approximately five suspects at large.
Around 10:30 a.m., a Pct. 4 Deputy Constable was patrolling northbound US 59 when he attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a pickup that was reported stolen in San Antonio. Instead of pulling over, the vehicle fled, exiting the freeway at E. River Road. The pursuit ended on Magnolia Drive, near Splendora.
There appeared to be 12 Hispanics in the pickup. All of them attempted to flee on foot. Seven suspects were caught, one as a result of assistance from a DPS helicopter. The search continued for a while and was eventually suspended. Assisting agencies include the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Splendora Police Department, Patton Village Police Department and Splendora ISD Police Department.
