Hazardous Weather Outlook

LIBERTY, October 18, 2015 - SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR VERY DRY WEATHER WILL PREVAIL THROUGH SUNDAY AND POSSIBLY MONDAY.

LATE NEXT WEEK WILL BE A DRAMATIC CHANGE TO A WET AND STORMY PATTERN WILL EVOLVE. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM SHOULD DEVELOP ALONG THE SOUTH TEXAS AND MEXICAN COAST HELPING TO DRAW TROPICAL MOISTURE INTO SOUTHEAST TEXAS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HIGH RAIN CHANCES NEAR THE COAST LATE WEDNESDAY WILL EXPAND ACROSS THE REGION THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. THE TRACK AND INTENSITY OF THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AND WHETHER IT TAKES ON TROPICAL CHARACTERISTICS IS STILL DIFFICULT TO PIN DOWN AND COMPUTER MODELS HAVE VARIED LOWERING CONFIDENCE IN THE TIMING OF THE HEAVIER RAINS THOUGH CONFIDENCE IN THE AREA REMAINS. BUT EVENTUALLY THIS SYSTEM SHOULD MOVE THROUGH THE REGION AND A SLOW MOVING SYSTEM COULD HELP TO FOCUS RAINFALL OVER SOUTHEAST TEXAS.
