East Montgomery County Drug Dealer Arrested
LIBERTY, July 29, 2015 – A New Caney drug dealer received an unwelcome early morning surprise visit Tuesday, when Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office narcotics investigators executed a search warrant on his residence in the 21700 block of Carol Road. The search warrant resulted from an investigation that confirmed he was selling methamphetamine from that location.
Deputies made entry and detained Larry Meshell, Jr. was without incident. He was asleep when deputies arrived.
A search of the residence revealed methamphetamine; marijuana; two digital scales and numerous small colored zippered plastic bags, typical of those used in the sale of illegal drugs; and a loaded 9mm pistol in addition to extra ammunition.
The Precinct 4 Constable’s Office Narcotics Division was assisted by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and SWAT Team, and the Houston Police Department Narcotics Division Squad #9.
“Every drug dealer we arrest decreases the flow of illegal drugs in Precinct 4, but it affects a lot more than the drug problem,” Constable Hayden said. “When illegal drug sales increase in a community, so do the crimes users commit to finance their purchase.”
It has a “trickledown effect,” he said. Likewise, reducing the availability of illegal drugs in a community has a positive impact on the overall crime rate.
“We’ll continue to attack this issue, working side by side with our District Attorney’s Office and with other law enforcement agencies to send drug dealers a clear message,” Constable Hayden said. “If they sell drugs in East Montgomery County, sooner or later they’ll be arrested and there will be harsh consequences.”
