Liberty County Sheriff’s Honor Guard conducting a practice session of the “21 gun salute” formation
This event is held each year to honor those law enforcement officers, fire fighters, EMS personnel and other first responders who have made the supreme sacrifice in giving their lives to protect the citizens of our state and local community as well as those responders who, on a daily basis, still rush towards dangerous situations that others are running from in order to help and tend to the injured and those in need. Over this past year there have been 5 Sheriff’s Deputies, 4 Fire Fighters, 4 Police Officers, 4 EMS and 2 Constables that have been killed in the line of duty across the state of Texas and those along with the 4 Deputies from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office who have been killed in years gone by will be remembered and honored at this special Memorial event.
The event will feature posting of the flag “colors”, speakers from various agencies within our county, a 21 gun salute and capped off with refreshments afterwards for those attending. This is an opportunity for the public to meet and say a simple “thank you” to your neighbors many of whom serve in these first responder agencies. Your presence would be sincerely appreciated by each profession represented at this Memorial.
