Republican Mike McCarty defeated long time Democrat Todd Fontenot who served several terms to become County Commissioner and was serving his first term. Investigation such as those into McCarty’s wrong doing are lengthy going on at times for a year or more prior to them being presented to a Grand Jury for an indictment.

McCarty has served as County Commissioner for just over two years. That leads one to believe he had his plan in mind from the time of his election or before.

But Liberty County is noted for it’s corruption. It’s almost commonplace but most of it goes on unnoticed by anyone. It goes on all the time unless someone pushes the issue and starts turning the screws on wrongdoers. So just who is it that’s turning the screws on McCarty and why?

In other Liberty County Courthouse incestuous news, Mike McCarty’s daughter Katherine McCarty recently joined the staff of County Attorney Wes Hinch’s office.
