Champion Lake Public Use Area Closed

LIBERTY, May 15, 2015 - Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge is temporarily closing the Champion Lake Public Use Area due to the flooding currently going on. It will re-open as soon as the water drops below the deck on the fishing pier. The boat ramp along the Pickett’s Bayou side, which allows boat motors of 40 hp or less, will remain open for now. The Champion Lake Public Use Area is located at the end of County Road 417 off of FM 1409 in southern Liberty County. For further information, please contact the Refuge Manager at 936 336-9786.
