Hardin Students Aid Ronald McDonald House

LIBERTY, December 15, 2015 – The Hardin High School Student Council and National Honor Society recently completed their annual drive benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston. Hardin High School students donate household and toy items to aide guest families of the Galveston facility. The Ronald McDonald House of Galveston is a “home away from home” for the families of children who are seeking medical treatment at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Shriners Hospital for Children and Transitional Learning Center. The House is more than a place to stay; as an alternative to an isolated hotel room, the families and children enjoy cheerful surroundings and the support of other families, volunteers and staff.

This year Hardin students collected over one thousand items and money. The money was used to purchase additional items.

The students participated in the RMH Lights of Love while delivering donations. This is an annual Christmas party for patients and families with games, crafts, food and Santa. The twenty-one students say this is a highlight of their year when they are able to help with this event. The Hardin High School Student Council sponsor is Amanda Key and the National Honor Society sponsor is Chris Goodwin
