Hazardous Weather Outlook

LIBERTY, June 12, 2015 – HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

EXPECT INCREASING SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE...ESPECIALLY
TONIGHT...AS DEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE MOVES INTO THE AREA FROM THE
EAST. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL COULD DEVELOP EITHER WITH THE STRONGER
STORMS OR WHERE ANY STORM TRAINING SETS UP. ALONG THE COAST...THERE
WILL BE RISING TIDE LEVELS AND AN INCREASING THREAT FOR RIP CURRENTS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE ON SATURDAY
AND PERSIST THROUGH AT LEAST MONDAY AS DEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE STREAMS
INTO THE AREA OFF THE GULF. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE
WITH TOTALS AVERAGING AS HIGH AS 1 TO 2 INCHES INLAND AND 2 TO 4 INCHES
NEAR THE COAST. ISOLATED AMOUNTS NEAR THE COAST COULD EXCEED 6 INCHES
WHICH WOULD LEAD TO SOME LOCALIZED FLOODING. THIS WEATHER PATTERN STILL
FAVORS THE HIGHEST RAINFALL TOTALS TO OCCUR GENERALLY ALONG AND SOUTH
OF THE HIGHWAY 59 CORRIDOR. ALONG THE COAST...ELEVATED TIDE LEVELS
WILL PERSIST AND THERE WILL BE A CONTINUED THREAT FOR RIP CURRENTS.
