Wanted Subject Arrested

ROMAYOR, September 22, 2015 - Since the shooting, in both legs, of Daniel Sinclair Smith by Joel W. Glaskox of the Horse Shoe Sub-Division back on September 6th, the suspect Glaskox has been on the run from investigators of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department who has been attempting to serve a warrant for Aggravated Robbery on him.

Today at approximately 2:pm, Patrol Division Captain Mark Ellington was checking the residence of Glaskox at 905 CR 2865 and was informed by a concerned citizen that Glaskox had been seen earlier in the day in and around his home.

Capt. Ellington contacted lead Investigator Sgt. Robert Dunn who arrived on the scene at about 2:30pm with the Aggravated Robbery warrant issued out of J.P. Judge Ralph Fuller’s office. Information was to the effect that Glaskox might be hiding in an abandon house on the property that is now used only for storage. Sgt. Dunn began going thru the abandoned storage house and found Joel Glaskox hiding in a darkened closet where he quickly surrendered without resisting.

A short time later a search warrant was secured out of Judge Mark Morefield’s 75th. District Court for the main residence on the property in order to secure additional evidence in this case.

Joel W. Glaskox, DOB 9-2-68 was arrested and placed in the Liberty County jail on the Aggravated Robbery warrant and will appear before a Judge later Tuesday while the investigation by Sgt. Dunn continues. The shooting victim, Daniel Smith is still recovering from the gun shot wounds in a Houston hospital.
