Speeding Driver Arrested in River Bottom
LIBERTY, October 20, 2015 – On October 17, 2015 around 5:30 AM a City of Liberty Police Officer noticed a black Toyota passenger car traveling 86 mph in a 65 mph zone. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on US 90 in the river bottom.
The Officer was speaking to the driver and could smell the strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. The Officer asked the driver if they was any marijuana in the vehicle and the driver stated no.
The driver stated that the vehicle wasn’t his it was his mother’s. He also sated that he didn’t know if his mother smoked marijuana in the vehicle.
The driver was asked to exit the vehicle. Another Officer did a plain view search of the vehicle and observed a glass pipe on the center console that had a green leafy substance in the pipe.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and a clear plastic baggy with a green leafy substance was located in a prescription glass case. The weight of the marijuana was about 2.7 grams.
Brandon Fisher was taken into custody, charged with Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
