Local attorney, Gary Dennison, announces Liberty County Attorney candidacy
Mr. Dennison has been a resident of Liberty County since his early childhood and is a graduate of Liberty High School. He went on to attend Baylor University where he obtained his B.A. degree and his LL.B. the following year. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1964.
His law practice has been primarily focused on criminal and family law. He is admitted to practice law in all courts of the State of Texas, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Texas and the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Dennison served on the Board of Trustees for the Liberty Independent School District from 1981 through 1988. He also served as a board member of the American Rice Growers, Dayton Division, Texas Rice Producers Association and the American Grain Association.
“It is a great honor to work day in and day out to assure justice is being served in our courtrooms,” says Mr. Dennison. “If elected, I would use my 40 plus years of knowledge, gained from working in our legal system, to proudly serve as a full time County Attorney, prosecuting misdemeanors and serving the citizens of Liberty County.” In addition, Dennison noted that he would advise the County Judge and County Commissioners as requested by the County Judge and/or County Commissioners as well as other county officials.
Mr. Dennison believes that his years of experience in the courtroom, as well as his nonlegal business endeavors, has prepared him to be fully qualified to exercise the duties and responsibilities of the office of County Attorney of Liberty County. He is married to Nancy Dennison, has 5 grown children and resides in Liberty.
