Murder Suspects Apprehended
ANAHUAC, July 6, 2015 - Sheriff Brian C. Hawthorne reports the apprehension of suspects in the June 15, 2015, April Forney murder.
Sheriff Hawthorne stated that information gathered by investigators revealed that suspects Kenneth Williams and Alexandria Barnes had fled Texas and could possibly be in Jefferson City, Missouri. While on patrol, a Jefferson City Police Officer saw who he believed to be Williams walk out of an apartment. When the officer turned back around to get a positive identification, Williams went back in to the apartment. The Officer, believing it was Williams, contacted his supervisor and a tactical unit was sent to the complex. After approximately 1 hour, Williams exited the apartment and was taken in to custody without incident. Once he was arrested, officers entered the apartment, and the second suspect, Alexandria Barnes was also arrested without incident.
Jefferson City notified Chambers County that Williams and Barnes had been apprehended. The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and Texas Rangers are en route to Missouri to retrieve and transport the suspects to the Chambers County Jail on charges of Murder and Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution.
