Drug Bust in Liberty
LIBERTY February 25, 2015 – On Tuesday, 02/24/2015, as a result of a narcotics investigation, the Daisetta Police Department, Pct #2 Constable's Office and Pct #4 Constable's Office received information concerning the possible delivery of narcotics within Liberty County. The information indicated that two to three hispanic males would be delivering narcotics into Liberty County sometime during the late evening hours.
To ensure that the exact location of the delivery was ascertained, the above listed agencies recived assistance from the City of Dayton Police Department, the Liberty County District Attorney's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS Narcotics).
The investigation revealed that approximately 1/4 pound of Hydroponic Marijuana and approximately 9 ounces of Methamphetime would be delivered to a Liberty County location and the agencies involved worked to develop intelligence regarding the identities of the persons believed to be transporting the narcotics as well as to ascertain information regarding the suspect vehicle.
By approximately 9:45 PM on Tuesday, 02/24/2015, the officers had discovered the delivery location, arrested two hispanic male suspects and seized approximately 4 ounces of Hydroponic Marijuana along with approximately just over 9 ounces of Methamphetamine.
The incident occurred at Dale's RV Park located at 3851 Sand Dune Road in the City of Liberty, Liberty County, Texas. Twenty-year-old H/M Frank Albert Molina of 12011 Fern Forest Drive, Houston, Texas was taken into custody in the driveway of an RV lot while nineteen-year-old H/M Kenneth Ithai Rivas of 4538 Anice Street in Houston, Texas fled the scene on foot, running westward from the RV, but was apprehended within less than a minute near a stand of trees.
Molina and Rivas were arrested on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (Methamphetamine) greater than or equal to 200 grams but less than 400 grams (First Degree Felony) as well as Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana greater than or equal to 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds. Both suspects were transported to the Liberty County Jail where they were released to the jail staff for booking.
