Rain is in the forecast over the next few days, however,we do not believe the anticipated rainfall will create major issues on the river. We will continue to monitor and advise as warranted.

The Red Cross shelter located at 318 San Jacinto Street in Liberty housed 27 residents last night and remains available to those affected by the flood.

Residents can continue to call our office at 936-334-3219 if they wish to report water damage in their homes. We also request that residents with damages contact FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 and pre-register so that the process can be expedited in the event we receive a presidential declaration for individual assistance.

So far no federal declaration covering residents has been received by county officials, however, we do know FEMA is reviewing data collected yesterday in order to make a determination of what relief affected residents may receive.
