Trinity River Flooding Update

LIBERTY, June 6, 2015 - On Saturday June 6th at 6 pm the current release from the Lake Livingston Dam REMAINS at 68,200 cubic feet per second. The lake continues a very slow rise. Officials with the Trinity River Authority continue to monitor conditions and will keep us advised of any changes that may occur.

The Trinity River is holding fairly steady at Romayor, now at 36.62 feet.

Liberty is showing a slight drop, now at approx. 29.66 ( 3.6 feet above flood stage) .

The gauge at Moss Bluff has been fluctuating as the result of technical difficulties but it is believed that Moss Bluff is holding steady or slightly rising to near 15 feet ( 2.8 feet above flood stage)

American Red Cross continues to operate a shelter at 318 San Jacinto Street in Liberty . Please feel free to come to the shelter in Liberty if you are affected by the flood and need a safe place to stay. Red Cross also has a new hotline number for residents affected by the flood, 1-877-500-8645. These Red Cross officials are working hard to take care of those affected by this event and their assistance is greatly appreciated by all of us.

Call 936-336-4500 ext 0 if you need assistance evacuating your flooded neighborhood. Call 911 if you have an emergency.

The Liberty County Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor conditions and will update everyone as conditions warrant.
