Trinity River Status

LIBERTY June 19, 2015 - On June 19, 2015 at 4:00 PM the Lake Livingston Dam Release continues at 68,200 cubic feet per second and the lake continues a slow rise, now at 132.28

The Trinity River in Liberty County is almost stable once again after rising due to the heavy rain experienced on Wednesday.

Current levels:

Romayor 37.31

Liberty 29.69 ( 3.6 feet above flood stage )

Moss Bluff 14.74 ( 2.5 feet above flood stage )

Residents with damage as a result of the flood are reminded to call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 to register for assistance.

Red Cross shelters remain open at 318 San Jacinto Street in Liberty and at the Calvary Baptist Church located at 816 North Blair in Cleveland. Approximately 50 people are taking refuge at the shelters.

When will it stop is the question most ask this week and the answer is not anytime soon. The key factor is how much water flows into Lake Livingston, as that inflow determines how much water the folks at the Trinity River Authority ( TRA ) are required to release from the dam. We work closely with the TRA officials and they will keep us advised when there is any change in the release.

Our hope is that a decrease is the only change we see in the future, however, the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management will keep everyone up to date on any changes in the release.
