Flood Statement

LIBERTY, May 26, 2015 - Rain is continuing in portions of Liberty County. Main roads are open in Liberty County, use caution when driving on side roads that normally flood during heavy rain events.

Authorities in Houston are advising against travel into Harris County due to extreme flooding in that area.

The Trinity River remains above flood stage and has risen due to local rainfall.

Current readings:

Romayor is at 35.4 with a projected rise to 37.8

Liberty is at 29.4 with a projected rise to 29.7

Moss Bluff is at 14.5 with a rise to 15.1 anticipated.

The projected numbers will change IF there is an increase in the release from the Lake Livingston Dam,however, we will not have an update on that until later this morning.

Local school districts will make decisions on their schedule for today, please contact schools directly or monitor local media for information.
