LIBERTY, December 7, 2015 – Currently the Lake Livingston Dam release is 27,300 cubic feet per second (cfs) and the lake is slowly rising, currently at 132.15.
Additional increases in the release from the dam will occur over the next several days, and as of this mornings discussion with officials at the dam, it is anticipated the release could reach 50,000 cfs by the end of this week.
Current forecast will take the Trinity River back into flood stage above 26 feet in Liberty by Thursday or Friday. Current stage at Liberty is 22.43.
Right now it is not anticipated that we will see flooding conditions like those that resulted in the issuance of two FEMA declarations over the past 6 months, however, folks residing in the riverfront subdivisions should be prepared for high water conditions which could once again close roads leading into these subdivisions.
There is no heavy rain in the forecast in the near future so hopefully flooding will be minimal and "reasonable" in duration.
Stay tuned to local media for updates and plan accordingly.
