Mark Beausoleil for Liberty County Attorney

LIBERTY, November 2, 2015 - My name is Mark Beausoleil and I write you now to announce my candidacy for the Republican nomination for Liberty County Attorney. Upon hearing of current County Attorney Wes Hinch's decision not to seek reelection, thoughts of the future of the County Attorney’s office began to weigh heavily on my mind. After much prayer and discussion with my wife and family it is my hope that I can contribute everything I have to make a positive difference for our home as your next County Attorney.

As many of you know I served in the County Attorney’s office for nine and a half years under the leadership of A. J, "Jack Hartel". My devotion for public service stems from witnessing my father honorably serving in the United States Air Force for twenty three (23) years. That guiding principle of public service lead me to serve as a fulltime firefighter/paramedic in Houston for Fifteen (15) years. While working as a firefighter I felt a burning desire to continue my education and earned a business degree in finance from the University of Houston and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.

Liberty County has given me the greatest blessing of my entire life, my family. My wife, Elisabeth, grew up in Hardin and graduated from Hardin High School. I had the great fortune of marrying her sixteen years ago and we have been blessed with three children: Nicholas, Liam, and Olivia. Liz and I both know the importance of raising our children in Liberty County and are proud to call Liberty County our home.

My experience while working in the County Attorney’s Office afforded me the opportunity to see firsthand the needs of the citizens of this county. As a former prosecutor, handling thousands of cases, I understand how essential our law enforcement officers are in protecting our home and know that working together with them to properly adjudicate cases offers the only means of truly protecting our citizens. During my time serving as the first assistant in that office I gained valuable experience advising Commissioner’s Court on legal issues ranging from jail contracts, employment issues, governmental procedures and liability risks. Most importantly, while working with Jack Hartel I learned the importance of maintaining an open door policy to discuss other needs you may have. Each and every police officer, commissioner, elected official, parent, juvenile, defendant, county employee, or concerned citizen will know they are always welcome to come to me with any concerns or issues and I will do everything in my power to take action to do what is right.

I have maintained a private practice for the past eight years, but as a husband and father I cannot overlook the desire to serve our county again and make it the best it can be. I've previously served on the Liberty City Council, Liberty-Dayton Chamber of Commerce, Bridgehaven Children’s Advocacy Board, and various other boards and committees.

I look forward to serving you as Liberty County Attorney and with your help will be able to do so.
Please feel free to contact me, Mark Beausoleil, at 936-336-6275 for campaign information.

I humbly ask for your support and vote in the March 1, 2016 Republican Primary for Liberty County Attorney. God Bless and Thanks Again, Mark Beausoleil
