LIBERTY, May 22, 2015 - May 22, 2015 - Just after 10:00 PM on Thursday City of Liberty Police Officers found a ten foot alligator in the westbound lanes of US 90 just west of FM 563 in Liberty.

The alligator was largely motionless as it had been hit by passing cars a couple of times and was injured.

Officers called for our local Game Warden Randy Button who arrived on the scene in a few minutes.

Due to the fact the alligator was injured Button made the decision to put the alligator down.

Once shot in the head the alligator was loaded onto Button’s truck and transported to an alligator processor.
