Attorney General Ken Paxton Promotes Importance of Internet Safety
FRISCO, May 6, 2015 – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today spoke to students at Leadership Prep School about safe online practices, including creating secure passwords and avoiding scams. The event was part of Google’s Online Safety Roadshow to discuss the importance of Internet safety.
“The dangers children face online are real and are found everywhere on Cyber Space, and the decisions they make when on the Internet can really have a major impact on their lives here in the real world,” said Attorney General Paxton. “At the Attorney General’s Office, we are committed to working vigilantly to help keep Texas children safe when they venture online.”
Texas Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit works to protect children by taking child predators off the Internet and into jail, proactively seeking out and arresting predators who commit crimes against children using technology and the Internet.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton urges all parents and teachers to realize the risks our children face online, and take steps to help ensure their children’s safety. For more information on cyber safety, please visit: https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/cj/cyber-safety.
