Leon Wilson Announces Candidacy
DAYTON, February 12, 2013 - My name is Leon Wilson, and I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Liberty County Commissioner for Precinct 4.
I am a lifelong resident of Dayton. I have over 30 years’ experience in public service having served with the City of Liberty Police Department, the Liberty County Sherriff’s Department, the Department of Public Safety, the Harris County Attorney’s Office, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. I am currently working for the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office as a consultant.
I have broad experience in management, having supervised over 60 employees in County government. I have worked in both Private and Public Sectors of business and construction and I am currently the owner of a small business specializing in construction, real estate, and security consulting.
I believe I have fresh and unique ideas for Liberty County and Precinct 4. Important issues on my agenda include:
Stopping the waste of millions of dollars by bringing the jail back under County administration.
I want to push for special legislative appropriations to help fund Volunteer Fire Departments and Law Enforcement Agencies, without any new taxes.
I am in favor of and will support programs to benefit our senior citizens.
I want to add that I am no stranger to “Boots on the Ground” hard work, and that I will be a Full-Time Commissioner with an Open Door Policy.
I ask that you elect me as your next Precinct 4 Liberty County Commissioner on March 4th.
