Third Case of West Nile Virus in Liberty County Confirmed

LIBERTY, September 20, 2014 - According to Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch, the Texas Department of State Health Services has identified a third case of West Nile Virus in Liberty County.

West Nile is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito so please remember to wear mosquito repellant when outside and empty any containers outside that hold water , as mosquitoes breed in standing water and with the recent rains, there will certainly be more than enough natural breeding grounds.

Additional information on the West Nile Virus can be found online at the Texas Department of State Health Services website, www.dshs.state.tx.us
