Source of Funny Money Arrested

LIBERTY, February 4, 2014 - On January 27, 2014 a couple went to the Main Street Car Wash in Liberty and attempted to use the change machine to get quarters to use the car wash. The machine would not accept the five dollar bill the couple was inserting into the machine, so the two went to the attendant at the business who gave them five dollars in quarters for the five dollar bill.

The attendant later noticed the five dollar bill was counterfeit and contacted the City of Liberty Police Department.

Officers responded to the business and located the vehicle with the two occupants inside the vehicle at a residence at 1106 North Travis Street.

Officers requested permission to search the vehicle and the driver refused to give consent so the Officer attempted to detain both subjects.

A K-9 unit arrived on the scene to assisst in the search.

George Banning of Liberty fled the scene on foot and remains at large.

Found during the search of the vehicle was, counterfeit bills, a printer, paper and a small amount of marijuana.

Kristina Taylor age 26 of Liberty was taken into custody charged with Forgery of Money, Possession of Marijuana, No drivers License and Failure to Appear on Class C Offense and transported to the Liberty County Jail.

Taylor has an extensive criminal history in Liberty County.
