Shooting at Mont Belvieu Motel

LIBERTY, June 4, 2014 - On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at approximately 10:30pm, the Mont Belvieu Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a shooting victim at the Super 8 Motel, located in the 9032 block of SH 146. After
officers arrived on the scene and began their investigation, they discovered that a 25 yoa, white malefrom Jonesboro, Texas had been shot. The victim was transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston by Life Flight.

The victim's mother advised that she and her son (25 yoa white male) had just arrived and checked into the Motel a few minutes earlier. Her son had gone back to their vehicle to retrieve some soft drinks.

The victim's mother advised that after a few minutes her son came back into the room and he advised her that he had been attacked by three (3) black males and shot while in the Motel Parking Lot. The victim advised officers that after he retrieved the soft drinks from the vehicle, he was approached by three black males and attacked. The victim advised that the suspects then began to beat him and he fell to the ground. The victim advised that he was able to get off the ground and began to run to the motelrun when he was shot in the back by one of the suspects.

Officers interviewed several witnesses at the scene and were advised that the three (3) black males exited a Maroon 4-door vehicle (possibly a late model Cadillac), with tan trim on the bottom, with silver hubcaps, and attacked the victim in the north parking lot of the motel. After watching the motel video the vehicle could possibly be a Buick Roadmaster (older model). Witnesses advised the victim was able to get off the ground and run towards the motel and at that time one of the suspects shot the victim in the back as he was running. The suspects then fled the scene in the Maroon 4 -door vehicle and were last seen going south on SH 146 towards IH 10.
