Liberty Police Investigate Shooting

LIBERTY, December 12, 2014 - On Tuesday December 9, 2014 at approximately 2:00 pm, Liberty Police Department received a call in the 400 block of Oklahoma for a deceased person. During the initial investigation, Judge Stephen Hebert conducted an inquest and ordered an autopsy.

On Thursday December 11, 2014 the autopsy was conducted at the Jefferson County Medical Examiner Office. Liberty Police Department Investigators attended the autopsy and received preliminary results that the victim died of a single gunshot wound. The victim is a slender build white female in her mid-40s.  The victim has not been positively identified and investigators are waiting on the DNA results to confirm the identity of the victim.
